At Omaha Media Group, we have had some time to run a couple of trial and errors when it comes to digital marketing tools and platforms. These are our top five marketing tools that any company should be using, and are tested and approved by our Digital Marketing experts!

1. Where is traffic coming from? How much monthly traffic is coming to the website? Not sure. That could be wasted opportunities and sales that are not being monitored by any type of system. First things first, a company needs to know where the traffic is coming from for ROI purposes. 

2. Return of Investment (ROI)! What is our ROI? Well, what are the goals and tracking that will be set up in place? If you are searching to have contact us forms filled out, how do you know they are being filled out? How much money is being sold off X product? Without all of this, money could be tossed into the wind. 

3. Trial and Error. It is important to test different methods to find the best one for the company and where more or less money should be allocated. Stop spending money on PPC ads if they are not being in leads and costing more per click than they are bringing in. What about the landing page for a new product? Is it bringing in any traffic with that new test? A company will never know until they try. 

4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)! How is the website ranking? Is it ranking at all? Is there more traffic coming from Bing than Google? This will tell you just about everything a company needs to know about SEO! When it does not, get on SEMRush!

Canva

At OMG, Canva is the perfect place for our digital marketers and graphic designers to collaborate on images and projects! Canva provides those who are not able to use Adobe features to create branded images, print media, email marketing campaigns and customizable templates for any other purposes! 

The VERY best part is that all images are saved! If the internet crashes, Canva has the last update and anyone can access those images who has the login information! 

Bitly 

Raise your hand if you hate long URLs on social media platforms! (Our hands are raised!) Bitly allows for a company to make sure all of their URLs are clean and as short as possible, but at the same time, tracks all clicks and opens with any URL!

 Our suggestion is that a company implements Bitly to keep track of their opens, shares and comments from a link. A customized link, such as a landing page link, can be tracked over time to see how many clicks the links has had, the geographics of this click and even more! 

 If there is a link that consistently is being opened, keep that on rotation. It is important to understand what is working so you can create similar content to this link, and to understand what content your audience will click on.
