The month of June was an extremely busy month for Google from releasing new YouTube Advertising for Small businesses and four major updates to their search results! These are the top latest SEO updates that all companies need to know.
Google Announces Spam Update
In a continuous effort to monitor and remove websites that are phishing and malware, if Google suspects you are a spam website, they will remove it to ensure the integrity of the SERP! This is the second rollout of this update for the month of June, and while your website isn’t spammy, it can still be affected by this update.
This is because the SERP can drastically change, and in return, rankings can spike or decrease based on the changes the updates do!
Google Verifies Core Web Vitals update
The first wave of the Core Web Vitals updates has been under process since the beginning of the month. As a way to help all companies, marketers, SEOs, and website developers out, Google Search Console has its own reporting for the update itself.
This provides what links are failing, the percentage of mobile-friendly, speed of the site, and more. The second wave of this update is projected to start in August 2021, and from there, continuously improve as it learns more about SERP.
June Core 2021 Update
As of June 15th, 2021, the June Core Update was finished rolling out stated by Danny Sullivan, Google’s Search Liasion, on Twitter. The SEO Meteorologist noticed an increase in volatility in Google, but overall, nothing that has not been noticed before. Another core update, another month for SEOs out there.

The month of June saw four major updates happen in Google’s SERP! There were two Google Spam updates, a June 2021 Core Update, and the official first round of the Core Web Vitals!
